    Notes Level of dam very low, with water in main section confined to channels and pans, so count done from vehicle, and on foot. Upper reaches, where water confined to the old river course, not done, because this is difficult to cover from the banks, and usually has few birds anyway. Most of Palaearctic waders in masses on small islands, and very difficult to separate - probably mainly Ruffs, Little Stints and Curlew Sandpipers.
