    Notes Weather good. Level of water has dropped, but it still extends past the reedbeds; most of this shallow water and shoreline was checked from a bakkie and on foot. The rest of the open water was checked with a scope from the ridge on the W side. Coot breeding records: 1 adult + 3 young (c.1/4 adult size0, 2 adults + 3 young (c.1/3 adult size), 1 adult + 1 young (c.1/2 adult size) and 2 adults + 2 young ( c.1/2 adult size).
