    Notes Water levels were still very high with grasses still submerged despite this being a dry season count. Access remains difficult. The NW parks section is not open to casual visitors. Bushwillow remains private land .We were able to access a pontoon once again and overed far greater area. A highlight was encountering abreeding island of African Spoonbills. Highlights also included an overwintering Osprey; an early, or overwintering, Common Greenshank and relocating the Water Thick-knees again at Vaalkop Dam. Lows included finding dead herons (Grey) that were entangled in very thorny acacia on 2 breeding islands and a dead hippo.
