    Notes Quite full. Clear, warm and breezy (water quite rough) at start, calm later. There was a heronry at the usual spot in the upper reaches, in some large Soetdoring trees. Extensive shallows made it impossible to get the boat close, so it was just scanned with binoculars from the boat. Breeding seemed to have finished and the figures are for adults and juveniles combined: Cattle Egret, 11250; Reed Cormorant, 22; Darter, 2; Sacred Ibis, 66. The Redd Cormorants and Darters were only in the trees, Cattle Egrets were both in the the trees and along the shore, while the Sacred Ibises were along the shore only. There could have been other species in the trees which were not visible.
