    Notes The morning was cool and overcast with light rain at 11:00. The afternoon was sunny and hot. Four of the five hides were destroyed by a fire which burned fiercely for 5 days until 21 September 2013. Despite this the vegetation has recovered well after the rain and was very lush. This made counting difficult as many of the water channels were covered. Many of the birds could have been hiding in the grass. The Painted Snipe was taken on call only.
