    Notes The dam level was surprisingly low - estimated about 20%. It appeared as if it may have been recently totally drained and was now filling again with subsequent rain. The low level would account for the lack of species normally found in greater numbers such as Reed Cormorant, ducks and grebes. The muddy margins would account for the unexpectedly large numbers of Three-banded Plovers.
