    Notes Weather: 16 Degrees Celsius, Wind 28km/h, 67% Humidity. Disturbances: Noise pollution Traffic on R27 flowing past the Vlei, and boating activity on the North Vlei. Various types of forms of pollution found. Habitat Description: The North Vlei is a large open water area, where the South Vlei is marshier. Water levels are high in the area. Only 75% of wetland shore area covered due to inaccessibility. Vegetation cover and density also make is difficult to observe the full of the wetland area. Majority of birds species observed were located at the South Vlei of the Reserve. Species Observations: There is a large population of Egyptian Geese and Red-Knobbed Coot species. A pair of Egyptian Geese, with 5 chicks was observed. Flamingos and Pelicans are pinkish in colour, indicating the presence of Crustaceans in the wetland.
