    Notes Counting at Kliphoek Saltpans was quite tricky, as the place was very hectic with all the twitchers about. There was a UCT Bird Club outing, a group from Tygerberg Bird Club and a number of individual cars of birders which made the negotiation of some of the tracks around the pans quite slow. Fortunately we spotted the one Red-necked Phalarope just before one of the TBC members flushed it. Sadly the White-rumped Sandpiper had already moved elsewhere by the time we got there.
