Brief_description
Open, tidal river mouth consisting of mostly sand banks which are exposed only at low tide when they provide safe roosting sites for flocks of gulls and terns. Some mud banks on the inland bank of the river section. Some beach section which is where the White-fronted Plovers are mostly found.
Physical_features
Shifting sand flats with pools and firmly packed sand bars.
Hydrological_features
Tidal - completely covered twice every 24 hours.
Ecological_features
Fairly sterile sand flats which are used mostly as a roosting site with only a very low density of feeding sand plovers present. Surrounded by old sand dunes with thick cover of dune vegetation.
