Notes This is the first time I have co-ordinated a CWAC count at Nylsvley. The weather conditions were perfect clear skies and no wind. However, the grasses in the vlei were very long. Birds would appear and then disappear. We counted the 3 hides at Vogelfontein first. By the time we got to Stemmers hide and Jacana hide the day was very hot and there was not much activity. We returned to Kingfisher hide in the late afternoon for the influx of cattle egrets to their roosts. Kindly note that fixed point photographs will follow in a separate email.
