Notes Our CWAC followed a period (and morning) of heavy rains in the Rooiwal area. The extensive grounds (fields) adjacent to the sewage works were drenched and only partially (40% instead of the usual 100%) accessible due to the muddy roads. Clouds of Glossy Ibis were present and counted in these fields (650!) an awesome sight! The count of only two Yellow Wagtail on the lawns at the dams was disappointing but the rest were most probably scattered in the surrounding fields not covered. Rooiwal remains fascinating with its waterbird population numbers varying almost on a daily basis.
