    Notes This dam continues to get silted up, and invaded by reeds and willows. Count tackled as before, from a vehicle and on foot, starting with the Caledonia section of the east side, and then the west side, starting from the southern end. White-breasted Cormorants at heronry in willows standing in water in the large bay - total includes large young on or near nests (at least 34 active). I think this is first time I have recorded African Rail here - have recorded it further S, near Zastron, and also S of Bloemfontein.
