Notes Count done from up on the high ground (an old municipal rubbish dump) on W side with x20-80 scope on tripod. When CWACs were started on this site (and for some years prior to this) most of the shallows and shore were covered with Typha and Phragmites. Since then the water level has been rising (probably because of grey water which the municipality should be using for irrigation, but for which the reticulation system has collapsed). This means that the water now extends beyond the fringing vegetation, presenting a new habitat for birds, and which they are using. To census these I would have to walk around the pan, which would unfortunately take another hour, at least.
