    Notes Quite calm most of the time. Sections of shore with geese checked from afar so as not to flush them. Short section of the Groot Vet River arm of the upper reaches inaccessible by boat. Overwintering Palaearctic waders: Ruff, Little Stint and Curlew Sandpiper.
