    Notes The count was marked by a strong cold wind. However, due to the exposed mud flats the bird numbers were prolific. A total of 151 Great White pelicans were seen circling over the Banzi pan / Usuthu river area, and will thus not be included in any of the sites counts. However, the size of the flock seen was significant and thus worthy of being noted.
