    Notes Goedertrouw Dam was 79.4% capacity. Due to good rains in the upper catchment areas the dam level has increased with the result that the edges are well vegetated and in certain areas bands of Sebania are submerged. This made observations difficult and provided little habitat of waders. In the upper reaches of the dam, a large mud flat attracted many bird species, however the heavy rains have scoured through this area creating a channel. This area is heavily silted and the previous mud flats no longer exist.
