    Notes This lagoon has now been closed to the sea for two years. The salinity is extremely low and areas near the Hermanus end are heavily polluted from overflows from septic tanks at the camp and caravan sites. The edges are littered with hundreds of dead fish (haarders). Bird counts are at an all time low.
