    Notes Beautiful winter day. Birds duped into thinking it was spring! The juvenile Pink backed pelicans (hatched February)were on the water, up to 8 at a time, practising communal fishing. Difficult as the lake is silting, and is only 6 inches deep in places. No water birds breeding. Although not related to this CWACount, an unusual but most welcome visitor was a spotted ground thrush, not seen in the Botanic Gardens for years.
