    Notes Weather - heavy clouds saturated but too high to rain, with partial breakup to let sunlight through at odd times. Wind from north west. The water logged vehicle route was impassable so had to be walked by Mark Arendse. Highlight was seeing the Hamerkop on arriving at the railway bridge a new sighting for the Zandvlei Nature Reserve. The bottle boom at the confluence of the Westlake River was on the bank of the Keysers and Westlake Rivers. Noted that a leaf on the surface of the water traveled at an estimated 0.75kph under the railway bridge into the main waterbody from the confluence of the rivers.
