    Notes Dam quite. Started earlier than usual for a winter survey because of wind forecast for later. However, no waterfowl were seen still coming on to the dam from their morning foraging on surrounding harvested maize lands. Calm (and overcast) at start, but soon became rough, and was very rough by the end. These conditions made it difficult to identify some smallish waders on mudflats in the upper reaches of the dam. I duck could not be identified (difficult to get a good look at it), but was possibly a Common Shelduck.
