Notes Clear, windy. All five dams full and overflowing. S end of southernmost dam extends as far as the access road. Rushes and bushes partially flattened at that pan and more shoreline and open water visible than usual. This pan was scanned from a fresh pile of rubble placed over the old, sealed ventilation shaft (to make it inaccessible to illegal miners). The second-last pan (from the S) is still covered with emergent sedge, but these have died back and are now quite sparse. There was much movement of birds between the ponds, so some birds could have been missed, and others counted more than once.
