    Notes Partly cloudy, hot and windy. c.50% of bottom covered with shallow water. Marsh owls in surprisingly open vegetation - among low, scattered, small bushes with very short grass on a section of the dry bottom of the pan. Probably the most Marsh Sandpipers and Greenshanks I've seen at a wetland in the Free State. The unidentified waders were small ones in the centre of the water - heat haze prevented identification - probably Little Stints and/or Curlew Sandpipers. One of Flamingoes had a broken wing.
