    Notes Level of dam high, but not full. Day clear and calm. Heronry again (as in summer) in stand of Acacia karroo trees growing along shore in upper reaches, on farm Kanneboskroon 2352; was examined only from the boat, so birds and nests could have been missed, but there seemed to be only 2 Grey Herons actually settled on nests, and probably breeding (incubating, or brooding small young); also present were another 23 Grey herons, 4 Goliath Herons (2 standing on a nest in a Soetdoring tree away from the actual heronry trees), 2 Black-headed Herons and 14 Spoonbills.
