Notes Level of water still quite high - high enough to allow me to get access the northern pan section in the boat. Quite rough to start with, calm later. Grey Herons at two heronries: one on rocky island off E shore of dam, southern half of dam, where there were 11 adults at 5 nests, three of which had an adult settled (probably incubating or brooding small young), and the other on two small rocky islands next to the large island towards the northern end of the dam, where there were 18 adults at 9 nests, 3 of which had eggs (5 in one, 3 in another, and at least 3 in the last). There were 3 adult Goliath Herons at the first heronry, and nest containing one egg; and, there were also 2 adults at a half-built nest in a tree in the waterc.5 m from the W shore, southern half of the dam. So, possibly 14 pairs of Grey Herons and 2 of Goliath.
