    Notes COUNTING CONDITIONS WERE CHALLENGING DUE TO THE WIDE EXPANSE OF WATER TOGETHER WITH THE LIGHT SHIMMERING MADE COUNTING BIRDS ON THE WESTERN SHORE DIFFICULT. IN SOME CASES ALSO DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY SMALLER SPECIES (WADERS). DUE TO THE VLEI BEING FULL, ACCESS TO BOTH SIDES OF THE VLEI WAS LIMITED, RESULTING IN SOME SECTIONS ONLY BEING COUNTED FROM ONE SIDE. ADDITIONAL OBSERVERS: R.
