    Notes The water level was the highest ever recorded. The flamingo breeding island was completely submerged. Flamingos are normally not counted during CWAC as the count tends to be severely inaccurate, as the species is best counted using aerial photography. Rough estimates were made, however, which are as follows: lesser flamingo (15 000) and greater flamingo (250). Cattle egret and sacred ibis appeared to be breeding in the south western corner of the dam.
