    Notes Dam condition full with water still flowing over the wall. This meant no shoreline to speak of, but reed habitat along most of the water perimeter. This restricted count to river and southern shoreline of dam only. Dam at >101%, had been 109% the week before. Count results very low even withstanding 65% of shoreline counted. . This is a concern. Possible reasons are pollution, recent high rainfall, the fact that the dam had been emptied to around 70% capacity in November, resulting in shoreline habitat change for birds breeding in the reed habitat which would have no longer been viable, replaced by wader type habitat for about one month. Dam was again at capacity in December.
