    Notes This was the second lowest summer count since I started, reason perhaps is Salt Works are now in full production on many pans on the eastern side (disturbance), but four pans on the extreme western side were dry (no birds). The section of bank, directly on the river, north of the now delapidated jetty, where in the past several pairs of Pied Kingfishers had bred was so erroded (from wash of boats travelling too fast) that not even a kingfisher was seen. Equally odd, no coots on the river.
