    Notes The water level was very low, possibly the lowest, we have experienced. In places, there was mud only. The grass was thick and tall making counting conditions very difficult. We noted plenty of Blacksmith Lapwings. Hamerkops also seemed more abundant than in previous years. There was an absence of ducks and only Yellow-billed and a few Spurwinged Geese weere seen. The African Fish-Eagle numbers seemed high (perhaps because of low water levels). 1 juvenile Fish-Eagle was observed.
