    Notes Level of dam low. Quite calm. Pan section dry. River section not accessible by boat (from just past the old bridge, at 29 33' 51.2"S; 25 17' 36.3"E); part of this done with scope from the present bridge not many birds, and probably not many missed along piece not checked. Breeding: a pair of Blacksmith Lapwings seen mating. Mallard was a male accompanied by two Yellow-billed Duck near the private resort N of the Provincial nature reserve; all three flew off together.
