    Notes I have noted the count conditions as "bad", because the habitat at the moment is not conducive to water birds. We did not see any open water and any puddles which may have been there are completely dry. Visibility was good. The evenings and mornings were cold, but during the day it warmed up. Because we saw so few birds, we took the opportunity to visit the proposed sites for the Volspruit mine. There was no sign of any activity, but I have contact numbers. There is extensive agriculture in the vicinity as well as game farms, some of which have gone to huge expense to fence their properties. It would be wise to contact these farmers in regard to proposed mine. The single Eqyptian Goose was flying over in the evening, obviously going to somewhere else. The African Fish-Eagle was on the nest and assumed to be breeding.
