Notes There was one lone White-back Duck in the scout bay. The water weed is not ideal even with the low water level. The grow back this past summer was not good and possibly too much wed was removed from the scout bay. This is just an observation. While counting, both African Fish Eagles arrived int he north region of the vlei, being mobbed by the gulls as usual. There were a high number of Spoonbills recorded for this count. Please note that the Marina North canals and the Night Heron roost were not counted by canoe. Therefore the Upper Zandvlei count should have reflected a higher total bird number counted.
