    Notes Counts conducted on foot and by car. Floodplain partially flooded. Heavy rainfall in two weeks previous; water receded considerably since. Large congregations of waterbirds on Kersefontein (and neighbouring farm) floodplain outside of CWAC area (between Kersefontein bridge and Hopefield-Velddrif road). Reedmarsh in this area (Kersefontein property only) recently burnt, currently comprises flooded new growth. Large numbers of Red-billed Teal, as well as Yellow-billed Duck seen in morning. Also recorded, small group of White-faced Duck and Giant Kingfisher, as well as vagrant, Knob-billed Duck. Cape Wagtail present, but not counted accurately.
