    Notes Pumps removed December 2018 (due to continued theft) and saltpans abandoned and then dried out. 12 Oct 2021 freshwater from the Motherwell Stormwater canal was diverted into the pan (urban stormwater and hence contaminated with non-solid waste). Slightly saline due to salt remaining from saltpan era. During this count pans were 105% full - slight overflow in places. No floating algae (after initial filling with freshwater much of the pan surface was covered in floating algae). Flood in adjacent river 2 June 2024 did not enter saltpan
