    Notes Conditions were testing due to the previous week's storms, heavy rain and flooding. Several areas of salt pans and river shoreline were not accessible. We even go stuck at one pont and had to be rescued by Jan Kotze (the farmer) with his tractor. Also during the course of the morning intermittent rain reduced visibility, although the morning at the start was bright and clear. All this contributed to what is the lowest winter count on this section since I started in 1995. NOTE: the totals did not automatically update, I put them in manually, someone should double check the figures. Notable absence... no terns, no herons.
