    Notes The lake is currently at full lake capacity. The mouth is still closed to the sea and the southern lake and the narrows is fresh with fringing reeds and floating aquatic vegetation. Most of the birds were seen in the north lake and at False Bay as the southern area was too fresh and the water very turbid. The northern lake is one third the salinity of the sea - 12 ppt.
