    Notes Hopefield Proposed E-fuels development (aviation fuel) on Portugeesche Fontyn just outside the town has the potential to not only use up the undergound water (acquifer) but dry up Langebaan Lagoon and the Berg River Floodplains. The community and Sandveld farmers were not aware of this proposal until recently.
